My name is Phil Bernier and I’m a proud husband and father. My wife Carlee and I both grew up in Smithers, BC and now we call it our home. We have a young boy named Hugo that keeps us on our toes. He keeps our dog Bernie and our cat Kyza on their toes as well. 

Having grown up in Smithers and like most young adults I needed to get away. I moved to Calgary to pursue post-secondary education in Sport Administration and Physical Activity. Shortly after graduating from Mount Royal University, I began working for Alpine Canada (Canadian Alpine Ski Team) where I became the Director of Events. This position provided me with the opportunity to travel the country, work the 2010 Olympics and see most of the mountain towns and ski resorts from coast to coast. After approximately 15 years in Calgary, the lifestyle that I enjoyed as a kid was calling me back.

Carlee and I both made the decision to move back home and be closer to family and enjoy all that the Bulkley Valley had offered us before. Before Real Estate worked for BV Electric as the Business Development and Community Relations Director. It provided me with the opportunity to be part of the community and develop relationships with various community and Northern BC stakeholders. 

As a Real Estate agent I soon realized this was my calling. I’ve always been passionate about the Real Estate Market and I’m a bit of a social butterfly so working with people comes naturally to me. I love getting to know my clients and getting a good feel for what properties are a good fit for them. I’m a strong believer in working hard for my clients and ensuring they feel comfortable in the process. Real Estate can be busy, fast paced and stressful so making sure you are communicating effectively with your clients is a key aspect to being a good Realtor. I look forward to what the future has in store for Real Estate in the Bulkley Valley.  

I’m passionate about our community and I strongly believe in giving back, for that reason I’m actively involved with various community groups, the Smithers Ski and Snowboard Club, the Smithers Celebrity Golf Tournament and the Bulkley Valley Youth Sport Foundation. In my spare time, you can find me on the slopes of Hudson Bay Mountain, on the soccer pitch and working on my game at the Smithers Golf and Country Club. I can also be found chasing Hugo around at the lakes, rivers, parks or playgrounds around in the valley.
